The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) is the premier association for administrative professionals.   We are a not-for-profit professional association with a mission of Enhancing the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership. Our association provides networking and education opportunities for administrative support staff at all levels.

 

The Crossroads Chapter  was chartered on February 9, 1998.  Our chapter meets on the 3rd Monday of the month from September through June in various locations in the Greater Attleboro area.  Guests are always welcome at our meetings.

Members have the opportunity to network and polish or expand their skill set through programs provided at our meetings.  Over the years, our chapter has been recognized on the division and international levels.  Crossroads earned the Chapter of Excellence Award in 2008-2009,  2009-2010. and 2010-2011 .

Investments and Mutual Funds 101


Brian Lopes, Senior Training Analyst
at Columbia Management, will be the speaker at the Crossroads Chapter's meeting on February 13, 2012.

"Mutual Funds 101" is a high-level overview of mutual funds. Participants can expect to learn about various aspects of mutual funds including:

> Types of securities within mutual funds
> Brenefits of investing in mutual funds
> Mutual fund ratings
> Mutual funds government regulations

Crossroads Chapter's meetings are held at Bristol Commons on Kelley Boulevard (Route 152) in North Attleboro, MA. Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:00 p.m., program at 6:45 p.m., and a short business meeting from 7:45 to 8 p.m. For further information, contact Diane Sousa at souza@masstech.org.


Managing Up! Understanding Your Boss!


The Crossroads Board is pleased to have Janet LaTourneau, President of Peak Performers, Inc.,, as the speaker for our January 16 meeting. If one of your goals for 2012 is to build a stronger relationship with your boss, this is the program for you!

Being successful means having the ability to manage relationships with your peers, those who work for you, and your boss. Understand the basic checklist for taking charge in this relationship for win/win results, and create your own specific check list. You will better understand that managing the relationship is part of your responsbility! Many think that the responsibility of the relationship rests with the boss!

I. Understand that establising expectations prevents poor performance and disappointment.
2. Become more aware of your present relationship with your boss
3. Understand and list your expectations
4. Learn how to re-start your relationship for the New Year
5. Create awareness regarding your impact on productivity
